Starting when I was a child of only seven or eight years old, I fondly remember accompanying my dad to many of the film classics screening at the Radio City Music Hall and other famous New York theaters at that time. I fell in love with films and film history. During the next 65+ years of my life, my passion for films has grown even stronger. My life has been blessed by good fortune in many ways, including a very supportive and loving wife who also enjoys films, and a daughter to whom I have passed my love of films, and who currently works in the film industry. All of these fond memories and blessing have encouraged me to support and develop other people’s appreciation of films, and especially, independent film makers. Through its various programs that promote the exhibition of independent films and conduct educational opportunities that teach the art of independent filmmaking to people of all ages, my membership on the Phoenix Film Foundation’s board of directors has been the conduit to “give back” and culturally enrich my community.
